Fast-growing Union County

Union County's population rose nearly 18 percent between 2000 and 2003, and nearly doubled the decade before that. Eight of Union's 14 towns are among the 50 fastest-growing in the state. Some population growth is due to annexation (Stallings, for example, more than doubled); the rest is new construction.
